Closed Loop

Closed loop is an engineering term that refers to the interconnection between two or more systems. In plain English, that means that the processes your are observing continuously feed or support each other. For example, Lenzing’s modal, a bamboo-based fabric, is considered closed loop because the chemicals that break down the raw bamboo into fiber are recycled over and over again. Ideally, in a closed loop manufacturing, waste can be reused or sent to another company to process into another product.
